Welcome Prospective Parents
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Busy Bees Montessori School. Each day at our school is an exciting new opportunity to enrich the minds of our students, and we hope your child will join us.
Busy Bees Montessori School welcomes students regardless of race, gender, national and ethnic origin, and is non-discriminatory in all our policies. We accept children between the ages of 6 weeks and 6 years old.
There are no specific academic entrance requirements; however, we base admission decisions on many factors, especially your child’s age and suitability for our program.
Please contact us regarding availability for your child, and to schedule your personal tour of our school. We will be happy to answer your questions and provide additional information about our educational programs.
We know it’s not easy to select the right school for your child. Our admission process makes it easier!
1. Visit us at a scheduled Open House, or take a guided tour of our school.
2. Observe one of our classrooms for 30 minutes to see how our
Montessori instructors interact with our students. You’ll notice how well the children interact and self-direct their activities, sharing with others and learning at their own pace.
3. Submit your application. Once you decide to enroll your child, you’ll complete an application form.
+ The Application
Please fill out the next documents if you wish to register your child in our program. The health examination form is for the doctor to fill out. The parents book is the application packet and last document has the standards for you to read only print the last page, sign and return it for our records. If you have questions please send us an e-mail.
+ Acceptance Criteria
Star Academy offers small class sizes from Grades Pre-JK through 8. Class sizes vary by Grade, with up to 18 students in Kindergarten (with a teacher and assistant) and up to 16 students in Grade 1-8*.
Prospective students for our Academic Programme must demonstrate all of:
(i) the ability and the motivation to achieve academic excellence;
ii) an independently-motivated work ethic;
(iii) an enthusiasm to participate in a variety of events and activities including sports, clubs and leadership; and
(iv) the emotional and social skills necessary to co-operatively participate with minimal staff supervision, within our school environment and culture.
Both to ensure student success, and to confirm our ability to comprehensively meet student needs, the first one (1) month of a student’s enrolment will be specified to be a probationary period. Star Academy will ensure that each probationary student has reasonable opportunities to demonstrate their abilities, and to actualize their potential. These opportunities will include all of a testing of the student’s skills, the student’s ability to work in harmony with others, and an assessment of the student’s future likelihood to succeed while enrolled in Star Academy. Probationary admission will be reviewed after the completion of one (1) month, and Star Academy will then confirm (or not) the successful completion of this probationary period, and the continued (or not) registration.
*Star Academy reserves the right to determine appropriate class size based on the needs of students in a particular class.
